The game has an improved command system, the A.I. The sprite ratio can be adjusted according to preference which at army command level means dealing with as many troops as were present at the battle of Waterloo itself.

A player can choose the level of command from Brigadier, Corps Commander through to Napoleon or Wellington themselves which means micro-managing can suit player preference, abilities and moving troops does not require keyboard skills comparable with virtuoso piano playing.

A significant plus point for me is the pace of the game is real time, (though this can be accelerated), by comparison NTW is hectic.
